The renewed playspace at Gelorup Community Centre brings together nature, adventure and local character to create a welcoming play environment for children of a range of ages and abilities.

At the heart of the playspace is the Playmaster Multiplay Unit, finished in a natural, earthy colour palette to complement the surrounding landscape. Australian animal-themed play panels add a distinctly local touch, encouraging imaginative play while connecting children with the native wildlife of the region.

A variety of standalone play elements extend the play experience, including a Pipeline Combination Swing, Jeep Group Spring Rocker, large Sand Play Unit with pulley system, and a Roadhouse & Cafe Play Hut that encourages social and imaginative role play. Farm-themed elements, including the Farm Totem, help reflect the rural character of the Gelorup community.

Freestanding Communication and Giant 4-in-a-Row play panels provide additional opportunities for interactive and social play, while the Babel Drum introduces a musical element to the space.

Accessibility was an important part of the renewal, with new concrete pathways and ramps providing improved connections between the separate play areas. The main playspace is finished with mulch softfall, while the sand play area provides a dedicated, shaded space beneath the existing pergola. The swing area features Play Matta safety surfacing, creating a smooth and accessible surface around the swings.

The result is a colourful and engaging community playspace that combines Australian wildlife, local farm character and inclusive play opportunities, creating a space for children and families to explore, imagine and play together.
