Larkhill Park

Larkhill Park was a design and construct project that formed part of the City of Rockingham’s 2018/19 Playground Asset Renewal Program. The brief for this project was to include multi combination units and a swing set. We opted to design a nautical theme inspired play space, with the park located in coastal location within a state-of-the-art sporting complex. Captains of all ages can set sail across a sea of imagination between the two play units. The main structure has upper and lower decks with rope nets situated under the decks of the play equipment to simulate sleeping hammocks which will encourage hours of social play. Little sailor mates can make their way onboard the Junior FTA-027 sailor’s boat via a climbing net and stairs, where they can engage in social play, role play and dramatic play. The unit also has integrated port holes allowing sailing adventurers to gaze out to sea while their deck mates steer the little boat to dry land. Other elements of the playground include a double bay swing equipped with a toddler and junior swing seat.
