Parkview Chase Playground
Perth
60 Parkview Parade, Redcliffe WA 6104
This playground within the City of Belmont has been thoughtfully designed to maximise play value, inclusivity, and sensory engagement for children of all abilities.
A key feature of the playspace is the inclusive play hut, which encourages social interaction, discovery and imaginative play. The hut incorporates braille elements alongside French and English words, supporting inclusive communication and introducing children to language and literacy through play. Wheelchair-accessible design ensures children of all mobility levels can enter and engage with the structure comfortably, creating a welcoming space for everyone.
A variety of sensory play features provide tactile and visual stimulation, encouraging exploration and supporting different styles of play and learning. The structure utilises timber-look High Pressure Laminate (HPL), delivering a natural aesthetic that blends with the surrounding environment while offering the durability and longevity of a highly robust material.
Adding an extra layer of interactive play, the Search and Find play panel invites children to spin a wheel featuring different garden creatures. Once the wheel lands on a creature, players search the wider playspace to locate the matching hidden decal, encouraging movement, observation, and collaborative play throughout the playground.
The playspace is centred around a custom Playmaster multiplay unit, which provides a range of climbing, sliding and imaginative play opportunities. Beneath the structure, a shaded under-unit area creates a calm space for relaxation, social interaction, and quieter play moments. Around the perimeter of the play pit, multiple play shop panels support imaginative and social role-play, encouraging children to interact with one another through creative storytelling and cooperative play. Additional features include a sensory totem, offering tactile and visual engagement, a pipeline swing for dynamic movement play, and a double owl rocker designed to promote shared play experiences.
The overall colour palette of greens and browns has been carefully selected to complement and blend into the surrounding natural environment, reinforcing the playspace’s connection to nature while creating a warm and inviting play setting. Together, these elements create a rich, inclusive and engaging play environment that encourages movement, creativity, discovery and social interaction, while providing a durable and visually appealing community asset for the City of Belmont.
